What happened?
Chapter 2
Ranma was thinking, he saw how much Akane was hurting and he wanted to go to her and comfort her. Even after 6 years he still loved her. It's true that he now loved Kasumi and married to her, but that doesn't mean that he forgot all about Akane.
"Akane, please come down and I'll start with what happen after the night you remember"
Ranma said it looking at Akane, wanting to go to her, to help her but he couldn't because he didn't know how he was going to comfort her now that he belong to someone else. Her own sister no less.
"Someone please tell me this is just a joke please?"
Akane pleaded from her position being hugged and comforted by Nodoka.
"Akane, please, calm down and let Ranma explain things to you"
Kasumi said from her position next to husband for the last 2 years.
"Ok...... ok..."
"Go on Ranma, it seems like Akane is ready to listen"
Soun told Ranma to begin his explanation and Ranma gathered himself so he can tell Akane the tale as how she lost past 6 years and how he is now married to Kasumi.
"Well Akane from what I've been told by Nabiki telling me what you last remember you lost little more than 6 years. It's more like 6 years and couple of days"
Ranma looked as though he was in pain, and he was. It hurt him so much to have to tell this story to Akane and it hurt him so much that he had to tell it. It hurt him to recall the memory.
"You remember how I told you that I loved you and that you told me you love me right?"
Ranma waited for some kind of response from Akane.
"It seems that when we were... snuggling, we weren't alone, some people were watching us and they didn't like what they saw..."
The Past??t;br>
"Ranma I can't believe that you love me, I've been waiting for you to tell me so long"
"I can't believe you love me. I never told you because I thought you hated me"
Ranma and Akane was sitting on the roof, a couple of minutes before, Ranma and Akane confessed their love to each other and shared their first real kiss.
"Ranma, what made you think I hated you?"
Akane asked him, already semi-knowing the answer to that question herself.
"Well, you always called me a pervert although you know I'm not. You never trusted me and you always jump to conclusion about me without ever letting me explain first. Beside, you told me that you hate me many time..."
Akane was looking at Ranma as he was telling her the reasons, he was not looking at her and she saw the pain in his expression. She for the first time ever, really truly saw the pain in Ranma's eyes and it made her feel sad and hurt.
'I can't believe I caused him so much pain. I can't believe he actually thought I hated him'
"Ranma, I'm sorry, I never really hated you. Only reason I was doing those things were because you always called me names like uncute or macho chick or things like that"
Ranma looked up to see Akane's face and her eyes. She held pain in her eyes and Ranma didn't like seeing it there.
"Akane, only reason I called you name in the first place was because you started calling me pervert and started blaming me for everything that was wrong with your life. The forced engagement...and everything else that followed..."
Akane knew that she was unfair to him. That doesn't mean that Ranma was without fault but she was the one who did the most damage in their relationship. Ranma caused her emotional pain when she caused him physical, emotional, and mental pain.
"I'm sorry Ranma, we were both so stubborn, I wish I got to know you first before I made up my mind about you."
"It's ok Akane, we got here didn't we? I mean yeah, there was lot of problems and challenges that we had to get through, but we are here now aren't we? We just confessed that we love each other"
Akane looked into Ranma's eyes which now held love. Love for her and understanding.
"Ranma, I love you"
With that both kissed again, and this one lasted a long time.
While the lovers were kissing on the roof under the moonlight, they were not alone. They were being watched by an angry cat. This cat was angry and already planning revenge on the girl that took her husband's heart from her.
'Violent kitchen destroyer will pay for taking my husband!'
The cat, now we know as Shampoo ran from her hiding spot back to Nekohentan to plan her revenge and with her great grandmother's help she will get the best revenge yet.
Present??t;br>
"Akane, it seems that Shampoo was watching us that night. You know how her and that old ghoul was. They came up with a plan to get you out of the way"
The Past??t;br>
"Great grandmother!!! We have trouble!!!"
Yelled a wet purple haired girl entering the room of her great grandmother.
"What is it Shampoo? What are you talking about?"
Here at the 300 year old mummy... 300 year old being that was Shampoo's great grandmother.
"Great grandmother, Ranma and violent girl closer!"
The mummy... the being... whatever... was not very shocked. She has been expecting something like this. Ever since the Mt. Phoenix events, she knew that Ranma truly cared for that Tendo girl.
'Hmm... it seems like Son-in-law has finally made his choice'
"Great grandmother, you have to help Shampoo get violent girl out of the way!"
"Shampoo, do you know what you are talking about? If we were to hurt the Tendo girl, Ranma will surly come after us with vengeance. How will you than capture him as your husband?"
Shampoo didn't really know how, and that stopped her. She really didn't think about how, she just knew that she had to.
"Aiya, than what we do great grandmother?"
The thing started thinking about what to do. She cannot return to the village. She will be the laughing stock of the whole village if she returned without Shampoo's husband. She the matriarch of an Amazon return a failure because of a mere male.
'Hmm... there is something...'
"Shampoo there is a way for us to get Akane out of the way without harming her. We won't even have to lay a finger on her"
With that the dried up monkey started to collect things that looked as old as herself.
The Present??t;br>
"The next day Shampoo and the old ghoul showed up on our house telling us that they have given up on me and will be returning to China. I don't know, we were both too happy to notice that something was wrong. Why would they just give up and leave? I don't know why I didn't see it before. They insisted that they throw us a party to celebrate our love. I was so stupid, I should have seen it coming"
The Past??t;br>
"Hey, are you serious? You are just going to pack up and leave?"
"Yes Ranma. We will be returning to China soon"
'Wow, she must be serious, she didn't even call me son-in-law. It's about time they gave up!'
"Well, that's cool, I mean it's been fun and all, and I'm not saying that I'll be glad to get rid of ya or nothing"
The thing was tempted to just bop him on the head with her staff, but she held back. The plan called for her to remain complete calm.
"Ranma, would you allow us to throw you and the Tendo family a party before we leave for China? We would like to thank you and the Tendos for the most entertaining time"
"Sure"
Ranma agreed, not seeing anything wrong. They were leaving soon and he wasn't about to pass up a chance at free meal.
The Present??t;br>
"I can't believe I agreed so quickly. If I only learned how to think with my head instead of my stomach, this would have never happened."
"Well, Ranma what can you expect? You were raised by Mr. Saotome there"
When Nabiki made that comment everybody gave Genma the look of death once again which caused Genma to try to make himself as small as possible.
?went to Nekohentan for the farewell party. All of us not expecting that Amazons had one more trick??lt;br>
The Past??t;br>

Shampoo greeted Ranma and the Tendos with a smile. Although she didn?ike putting a happy face when her husband and that Tendo girl was so close to each other, thinking about what will happen if the plan succeeded made it easier to smile.
?nks Shampoo, it?oo bad about you and the ghoul going back to China??t;br>
?ma will miss Shampoo, yes???t;br>
Shampoo asked with a cute expression on her face that people usually had trouble saying no too.
? yeah, sure I?miss you and all??ey, where is Mousse???t;br>
Ranma try to change the subject before Shampoo said something or he said something wrong and Akane will beat him for it. Although Akane promised him not to hit him again for stuff like that, you can never be too careful with Akane.
?sse not here. Shampoo told him Mousse should be here.??t;br>
In truth, Mousse found out about what Shampoo and the dried up monkey was planning to do and wanted to warn Tendos, however the incredibly not dying old thing got to him first and he was in the cage in the basement.
?l, that?oo bad, I wanted to say hi to him before he leave??t;br>
Akane said, taking her place next to Ranma, giving Shampoo the look of victor.
? eat that you Amazon hussy. He loves me and not you!?t;br>
If she could, she wanted to dance around the place with Ranma in her arms. Showing off him to the world that he loved her and not any other girls. But she had to calm down, Ranma and she agreed not to reveal too much to anybody before settling things down with all the girls. That?hy this came as an unexpected surprise. One of the girls that Ranma and her had to take care of was just taking care of herself for them.
?mpoo make sure Mousse get message??t;br>
With that Shampoo moved away from Akane. She couldn?ake the look in Akane?yes anymore. Shampoo wanted to yell at Akane, tell her to get away from her husband, tell her to leave, but she had to keep up the act so she just left so not to look at Akane and Ranma together.
?come to the final party that this restaurant will ever throw. This is in honor of Ranma Saotome who have eluded the amazons for so long and the Tendos who have provided us with such an entertaining time??t;br>
The old mummy started to make her speech. She looked at everybody here. She saw that no one was suspecting anything.
?d, none of these fools are expecting anything. This is going to be easy?t;br>
?hout further talking, let?et to food. I know how much Ranma and his worthless father likes to eat??t;br>
With that the short so-called woman produced incredible amount of food. Of course Ranma and Genma were the first people to get there and they started to do their traditional battle for the food. This was when the little gnome made the second announcement.
?ave already anticipated this action by Ranma and Genma, that is why I have already prepared an individual meals for everyone??t;br>
With that the little troll produced the second set of table with food for everyone.
When everyone sat down around the table, they began eating.
?d no one is suspecting anything. Perfect. Now to execute the plan?t;br>
?, I will treat you all to the famous amazon dessert. This recipe has been passed down for 3000 years among amazons??t;br>
With that she produced a dessert that looked delicious that no one would be able to resist it.
She placed one in each and every one that was at the party. She waited everyone to finish their share and when Akane finished hers she smile.

She looked towards her great granddaughter and caught her eyes

The Present??t;br>
?were so stupid to not have seen it. We should have known that they were going to try to pull one last trick??t;br>
??ick yourself too hard Ranma. Even I didn?ee it??t;br>
Nabiki told Ranma. She was still feeling guilty for not being able to see it herself. Her, the most intelligent and manipulative of the Tendo was outsmarted and she blamed it as partially her fault.
?didn?now something was wrong until we came home. I think they did that on purpose so that we won?uspect them??t;br>
The past??t;br>
?t was a great meal wasn?t???t;br>
Ranma asked Akane was they were walking back to the Tendo place a head of everyone so that they can have some private time without anybody around.
?, it was pretty good. I?urprised that they threw a party for us even after how hard they tried to get you??t;br>
Akane was in happy mood so far. Just yesterday Ranma and she confessed their love to each other and now one of the problem was solving itself for them.
?h, I was surprised too, but nothing happened and we all had a good time. Shampoo didn?ven try to glomp me??t;br>
?now, it was good??t;br>
They continue to walk in silence until they reached the Tendo home.
?l, my uncute tomboy, it seems like we are home, shall we go in???t;br>
Ranma asked with a smile on his face. He decided to continue to call Akane uncute tomboy, for several reasons. One of them was that it is just what he has been calling Akane for so long it kind of became his pet name for her.
However, as soon as Ranma said it Akane just froze up on the spot and did not move. This worried Ranma a little when Akane just stopped moving with him.
?ne are you ok???t;br>
When Ranma asked the question and touched her, Akane looked up and what Ranma saw made him blink. What Ranma saw was not love in her eyes but something equivalent to hate.

Authors Note.
Well, I don't know where the idea for the story came from but it kept coming and I couldn't help but write it. I am Akane and Ranma get together fan, however after reading few of the fanfics out there, I seem to have gotten a rather poor view of Akane as a person.
This story will consist of the family members recalling of the past 6 years of what happened. It will start with Ranma and how things happened and so on and so forth with each family members telling of how it happened.

What happened?
Chapter 1
As the sunlight seeped through the curtained window, Akane Tendo woke up from a deep and peaceful slumber. She woke up with smile on her face. Ranma told her he loved her yesterday and she told him that she loved him. It was the best night of her life. She couldn't wait to see Ranma this morning.
As she made her way down the way, she felt something was wrong. For one thing, she couldn't hear Ranma and Genma's usual fighting. It's really unusual for them not to spar, but she just let it pass. Another thing that she noticed was that she couldn't smell Kasumi's delicious cooking coming from the kitchen.
"What's going on?"
She said to herself as she made her way to breakfast. She saw Nabiki sitting on the table alone. Something that was very unusual.
"Nabiki, what's going on? Where is Ranma and Mr. Saotome? For that matter where is Kasumi and dad?"
Soon as she asked the question, Nabiki looked at her with questioning look and also a look that asked 'are you alright' Sure enough
"Are you aright Akane?"
"What are you asking that question for Nabiki? I just asked where is everybody, it's a simple question"
Akane couldn't wait to seek Ranma again, after what they shared last night, she couldn't wait to share more of those pleasant moments with him.
"Akane, I think you better sit down for this one. I won't even charge you for this one"
"What's going on"
Now Akane was feeling scared and sensing something is really wrong.
"Well, Akane what do you remember?"
"Huh?"
"What do you remember?"
"Well, it's kind of private."
Akane said it with blush, remembering the private moment that she shared with Ranma last night.
"I need to know in order to tell you what is going on, so what do you remember"
'That's really odd question, what is going on?'
Akane thought to herself, but decided to go along with her sister, not really seeing any danger in telling her sister what she and Ranma shared last night.
"Well, last night Ranma told me that he loved me and I told him that I love him. We shared some private moments that I don't want to go into detail about."
Akane blushed deep red as she said the private moment part.
"So, what's going on here? Where is everybody"
Nabiki seem really troubled after hearing what Akane had said.
"Well, you are going to have little trouble believing what I am going to tell you, but everything I'm about to tell you is the truth. Here we go. Akane you've lost about 6 years."
"WHAT!!!!!! 6 YEARS!!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKIG ABOUT!!!!!"
"Like I told you Akane, you've lost about 6 years and Ranma, Mr. Saotome, Kasumi doesn't live here anymore."
"They don't live here anymore? What are you talking about, why won't they live here anymore?"
Akane was in shock, she lost 6 years? It was unbelievable but she decided to go with Nabiki for a while try to figure what kind of sick joke everybody in playing on her.
"They don't live here because Ranma and Kasumi is married and have a place of their own, and Mr. Saotome moved in with auntie Saotome."
That little information that Nabiki gave Akane just caused her the most unbelievable pain that she had ever known.
"WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!"
'She's got to be joking, she has to be joking, she must be joking, she is making this all up. Ranma and Kasumi cannot be married, no they cannot be married, and they don't have a place of their own that's not funny.
"That's not funny Nabiki, now where are they?"
"Akane, I'm sorry, but it's the truth, they got married about 2 years ago and moved out of here mainly because of you."
Akane was in turmoil and pain.
'I cannot believe this is happening, this joke is going too far, why would Ranma marry Kasumi when he said he loved me'
"Nabiki, why would Ranma marry Kasumi when he told me that he loved me? Answer me that!!!"
Nabiki, was looking at her sister with pity and sorry expression.
"Well, mainly because you told him that you hate him"
"WHAT!!! WHEN DID I EVER TELL HIM THAT I HATE HIM WHEN I JUST TOLD HIM LAST NIGHT THAT I LOVE HIM!!!!!"
"That's what I was telling you Akane, you've lost 6 years and in between that 6 years lot has happened."
"NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU, NOW WHERE ARE THEY TELL ME THE TRUTH OR HELP ME I WILL FORCE IT OUT OF YOU!!!!!"
Akane was in pain and she was angry, this joke has gone for too long and she did not want to be a part of it any longer.
"Akane calm down, I'm telling you the truth, if you want we can drop by their place, Kasumi can't come because she can't really move around much with her being 9 month pregnant"
"NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO, THIS IS NOT HAPPENING, THIS IS NOT"
After yelling out her denial, she broke down and started to cry, she couldn't handle the stress anymore.
Nabiki after seeing her sister break down decided to call Dr. Shinji. Dr. Tofu moved after Kasumi married Ranma.
Dr. Shinji came out from Akane's room and entered the living room where the family has already gathered after receiving a call from Nabiki.
"Doctor, how is my little girl doing?"
Asked Soun, amazingly he was not crying and had a look of seriousness about his eyes.
"Well, Mr. Tendo, it seems that she just had a break down and is some how is out of the influence of the potion, but that has caused her to forget about past 6 years from the time she was influenced by the potion."
After Dr. Shinji explained this to the family, they all got the look of understanding in their eyes.
"She is sleeping right now, but it seems that she is due some explaining after she wakes up, I better get going there are other patient that needs my attention"
After the doctor left, the family started to discuss how they are going to explain what happen to Akane who has lost past 6 years to no fault of her own.
"Well, we'll just have to explain it to her what happened and hopefully she'll accept what happened"
Said Ranma who now seem more mature and more calm than ever. He has aura of power and maturity that would shock Akane upon seeing him.
"Ranma's right, we'll just have to explain it to her, but we'll have to explain it to her exactly what happened"
Said Nabiki, who changed with time but not for much.
"I agree. She would also need support and understanding from us and she would need us to help her through this"
Said Kasumi who was in semi-inclined position because of her huge belly that made her look like she just slowed a basketball or two.
"Say, Kasumi how are the babies doing?"
Asked Nabiki looking at Kasumi with worried eyes and also Ranma with the same look.
"They are doing fine, they are due in about a week, or so. They are strong and healthy, you should feel them kick, just like their father"
With that said, Kasumi turned to her husband of 2 years. Ranma of coursed looked proud and embarrassed at the same time.
"Well, let's eat!"
We all know where that came from, 6 years have not changed Genma much and although living with his wife has changed him a little, Genma's true nature as selfish and cheating bastard did not change.
His statement caused several people to give him the look of death. They were specially coming strong from Ranma and Nodoka who still carried the family sword but did not have a reason to use it, yet.
"Dearest, you will forgo without food for the rest of the day for that thoughtless comment is that understood?"
Nodoka said with her calm voice. Genma tried to argue, but from the look that he got from both Ranma and Nodoka made him give up. He wanted to turn panda from the looks, but could not for the shear fact that no one will fall for that act anymore.
"Well, hopefully, Akane will listen to us and understand what happened and learn to live the life that is in front of her."
Said Soun who uncharacterically said something that was intelligent and thoughtful. 6 years have changed him for the better. Unlike his friend Genma, with Ranma and Kasumi's marriage, he has changed for the better and became a man that he was before his wife had died.
"Your right, we must hope for the best and help her as best as we can and hope that she can learn to live the life that is in front of her now."
Said Ranma with what looked like pain in his eyes.
Everyone had their own unique thoughts after what Ranma and Soun had said. Everyone had their own things to think about and how they are going to explain to Akane what has happened past 6 years and how it turn out to be the way it has. Of course, Genma was thinking about food that he could be eating right now.
Akane woke again and though about that horrible nightmare that she just had.
"That was so horrible, losing 6 years and learning Ranma and Kasumi are married with Kasumi pregnant. What could be worse?"
With that she made her way downstairs to meet the family. Of course everybody was there and she was relieved. As she made her way, she saw their expressions and knew something was wrong. She also noticed the way Kasumi was sitting.
'No no no no no no no, this cannot be true, I must still be dreaming... PLEASE LET ME BE DREAMIN!!!'
She was repeating the thought over and over again in her mind when Soun spoke up.
"Akane, how are you doing?"
"I don't know... what's going on? I don't understand..."
"Well, Akane, it's like this, you've lost 6 years and we'll just explain to you what happened in during those 6 years."
Ranma said it, and everybody just looked at him for his lack of tact. Although 6 years has taught him powerful martial arts and calm him down, it still could not teach him the art of tact.
"It's true than, I lost 6 years?"
"Yes daughter, you've lost 6 years. I'm sorry"
"How did it happen? I don't understand, last thing I remember is Ranma telling me that he loves me and me telling him that I love him. After that we talked and did things and I went to sleep. That's all, and now you are telling me that I lost 6 years. What's going on???"
Akane started to cry while saying those things and Nodoka got up and pulled her down to a sitting position and gave her a hug to comfort the distressed girl. Poor girl that has lost 6 years of her life.
"Dear, I'm sorry, we are all sorry about what has happened to you, but it is true, you've lost 6 years of your life and we'll explain to you. Ranma, why don't you start?"
